A simple split sheet template.
Use this to document who owns what on a song — the songwriting (publishing) and the recording (master) are separate rights, and this template keeps them separate too. Copy the text block into a Google Doc or Word doc, fill in the blanks, and have everyone sign.
This is a plain template for convenience, not legal advice. A signed split sheet is a standard, widely used industry document, but for anything high-value or contested, have an entertainment attorney review your agreement. We're also working on a proper e-signature option — this page is a stopgap until that's live.
